Bill Butler
Retired FDNY Captain Bill Butler. Captain Butler lost his firefighter son, Thomas, on September 11. Although retired, Captain Butler decided in December of 2001 to
suitup and go down to Ground Zero to look for his son. He was a fixture there from that time forward and wanted only one thing: To bring Thomas home so he and his family could give him the farewell his hero son deserved. Captain Butler's courage and determination
really touched my heart and changed my outlook on life. He was always thinking of others well before worrying about himself.
